What the law requires
A policy for the whole stay
Older foreigners who live in the Czech Republic without permanent residence must take out health insurance with a commercial insurer for their whole stay. This also applies when they renew a residence permit (Act No. 326/1999 Coll. on the residence of foreigners).
If parents come for a short time, on a short-stay visa, they need an emergency care policy.
