What the policy covers
The policy pays for care when you suddenly fall ill or get injured. It does not cover planned treatment. The exact cover and limits depend on the insurer and the plan, and a policy usually includes:
- a doctor’s examination and treatment for a sudden illness or injury
- hospital treatment
- medicines prescribed by a doctor
- emergency dental care
- transport and getting you back home
